Landscape Committee
Mission Statement
Our mission is to help keep our neighborhood common areas the beautiful places they are and improve them so that we can all enjoy our neighborhood for many years to come and help maintain our property values.
- Develop long term common area goals to improve common area landscaping, lower costs such as irrigation, and use alternative landscaping techniques such as xeriscaping (low maintenance low water-use landscaping).
- Try to keep costs for Common Area landscaping reasonable.
- Communicate and potentially resolve your common area concerns and issues with our property management company and the landscaping contractors.
We have a management plan approved by the city for managing and restoring our common areas designated as Sensitive Vegetation Areas by the City of Corvallis. We expect restoration work to begin in 2020. Please see Information & Forms for more information.
Adoption of Common Areas by GO Homeowners
Grand Oaks Subdivision was envisioned with a lot of open space and common
areas, most of which are meant to be wild areas not needing maintenance by the landscape contract. However, many of these areas have become overgrown
with weedy species, and conversion to natural wild lands will not happen without help. Homeowners Association fees would have to increase significantly to cover all of these lands, and we have many motivated gardeners in our neighborhood. As a result, the Homeowners Association has formulated a policy on common area adoption by adjacent homeowners.
Note: The common area adoption policy is currently under review. A new application form will be posted when the review process is complete.
